What was my day like?

If somebody ask me, "How was your day?" I'd say that I survived. Today, there were bomb blast in Imphal, Guwahati and in our neighbouring country, Islamabad, killing hundreds of innocent people. Today, there was an earthquake in Italy, killing hundreds of people. Today, many workers of the world got laid off because of the economic meltdown. Today, I read that the arctic and antarctic icebergs would melt away within 30 years, leaving a trail of natural disasters like flooding, tsunami, earthquakes... Today, I was also told that in our society where majority of the tribals still follow the traditional ownership of land in hills, the eldest son is the sole heir of all the properties and the daughters get nothing. They just don't enjoy any economic rights unless they are charitably offered to stay with the male siblings as dependents! So, "Today" acquires a profound meaning for me these days simply because I feel like we live everyday in fear or with courage, the two spectrums of our lives, so intertwined to make us either a survivor or a loser. So, I would say that today, something is wrong with the world and some people on this planet because of their madness and destructiveness. The injustice and prejudices which some of us preach or practice today makes me feel like I am just surviving, not living in real sense. Today, I regret inhumanity and the delusion of some, who claims to be the voice of masses, irrespective of the individual qualities and freedom of choice we all must have and respect. Today, I hate the masses and any society that breeds hatred and cruelty to few individuals who are harmless. Today, I hate ideologies and political aspirations of few who claims to bear the mark of approval of the masses, when all they ever want is power and exploitation.
